The writer of the show (Joel Murcott) appears in a Wheaties commercial and urges listeners to buy the cereal, “just to show us you like the show.” It is August 4th 1948. Maurice Buckland and his son Dave are driving across their ranch in a jeep dropping off salt cake for their cattle when they noticed some that hadn’t been touched…
