“Stranger In The House”. A young couple buys a house, complete with a beautiful ghost. The husband was in love with the ghost during a former life. The script was also used on “The Sealed Book” on May 6, 1945 (see cat. #1535). The scene: A small village of Woodford in Vermont. It’s 9:00 o’clock in the evening, and the main street in the village is deserted. A car comes speeding through the village, and with the squeal of its brakes comes to a stop before the home of Dr. Samuel Stewart. A young woman, obviously distraught, gets out from behind the wheel of the car and hurries up the walk to the doctor’s home. Helen decided that she might as well be honest with herself. The suspense was getting her down but if she didn’t find out one way or the other pretty soon something was going to snap. It had been over 6 years since her foster brother Ted had left for the Orient on that government mission and he was still out there somewhere between Manila and Shanghai alive or dead it was a terrible thing to admit to herself but she was wishing now for any kind of message even one stating Ted was dead at least it would end the waiting at least it would be better than not knowing at all.
